• Advised the lenders in the expansion and refinancing of the P.T. International Nickel’s nickel mining and processing facilities located near Soroako on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia.

• Advised the client in connection with a refinancing agreement, private placement, use of technology in coal excavation for the Indonesian government and coal concession in Indonesia and offered general counsel regarding various rock trenching projects in Asia and Europe.

• Advised the the lenders on a loan facility to Oriel Resources plc, a London based chrome and nickel mining and processing company for the Voskhod Chrome Project.

• Advised the Government of Kazakhstan in connection with an aluminium smelting transaction.

• Advised a Turkish company in connection with a joint venture to develop a large copper deposit.

• Advised the State Committee on Geology and Uzalmazzoloto in connection with a joint venture with Newmont Gold Company and Mitsui to explore, develop and mine the Kizilalmasai Gold Deposit.

• Advised the State Committee of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Concern in a project financing of a heap leaching plant at the Muruntau gold mine near Zarafshan, Uzbekistan by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and a consortium of Western commercial banks.

• Advised the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources for the Republic of Uzbekistan and another entity in a joint venture with which to develop three gold and silver mines in the republic.

• Advised joint venture owners in connection with the project financing of the Muruntau gold mine near Zarafshan.

• Currently advising a project sponsor on the establishment of the project documents for the first project financing in Eritrea for the development of a gold/copper/zinc/silver deposit.

• Advised the arrangers of a debt financing for the development of the Bibiani gold mine.

• Advised the arrangers of a debt financing for the development of the Tarkwa gold mine.

Guinea

• Advised investors in relation to a joint venture relating to the development of a bauxite mine in Guinea.

Kenya

• Advised the lenders in connection with its mineral sands project for the extraction of titanium and zircon in Kenya. At the time of financing this was the largest foreign direct investment ever into Kenya and Kenya’s first major mining operation.

Mauritania

• Advised on a joint venture with SNIM to develop an iron ore mine in Mauritania.

Namibia

• Advised a project sponsor in connection with the development and financing of the Haib copper mine. The "Haib" was the first new major mining project in Namibia since its independence in 1990.

Republic of Congo

• Currently advising a chemical offtaker on the first project financing and offtake agreement in the Republic of Congo for the Kouilou Potash Project.

Tanzania

• Advised the lenders in connection with the refinancing of the Golden Pride gold mine project financing in Tanzania.

• Advised an African government in respect of an ICC arbitration relating to mineral rights.

Zambia

• Advised the lenders on a senior debt facility for the development, construction costs and working capital for the Munali nickel mine in Zambia.

Zambia , DRC and Mauritania

• Advised the lenders in connection with a five year facility to First Quantum Minerals Ltd., relating to the refinancing and development of copper and gold mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Zambia and Mauritania.
