Our Frankfurt office grew out of a former German practice in that city—one of the so-called “Big Ten” German commercial law firms with a national reach and comprehensive legal services with whom Mayer Brown merged in April 2001. The office numbers approximately 60 lawyers and encompasses practices in the area of Banking & Finance, Corporate/M&A, Real Estate, Litigation & Arbitration, Employment Benefits, Intellectual Property, and Tax. In areas such as, for instance, Structured Finance and Securitization, Mayer Brown worked with clients to pioneer innovative approaches to transactions. The office’s client service has been recognized by legal market directories, including Juve Handbook 2011/2012, which ranks the office as “highly recommended”.
Frankfurt, along with Düsseldorf, belongs to the important, globally intertwined economic centers in Germany. Frankfurt is the largest financial center in Continental Europe and seat of the European Central Bank, the German Federal Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and several large commercial banks.
