Experience
David Krakoff focuses his practice on white-collar litigation and he is co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Global Litigation Practice. He represents corporations and corporate executives in all aspects of criminal and related civil and administrative matters.
David’s experience includes federal and state trials, with primary trial responsibility in more than 50 cases. In 2009, David represented a former executive of W.R. Grace & Co. in a lengthy criminal trial in the District of Montana that ended in an acquittal of all charges. He also handles internal investigations, grand jury investigations, SEC enforcement proceedings, shareholder actions, appeals, debarment proceedings, and audit committee counseling. His client matters include accounting fraud, securities, tax, foreign corrupt practices, public corruption, antitrust, healthcare, export control, trade secrets, and environmental issues.
Before joining Mayer Brown in 2004, David worked for 10 years as an Assistant US Attorney in the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. He is recognized as a leading White Collar Defense practitioner by Chambers USA (2006-2009), Best Lawyers in America (2006-2010), Superlawyers (2007-2008), Washingtonian Magazine (2007), Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals and Best Lawyers in Washington (2006-2009, White Collar Litigation and Complex Civil Litigation; 2010, White Collar Litigation and Commercial Litigation).
