Experience
Hector Gonzalez focuses his practice on litigation. He has tried more than 20 federal and state jury trials, including RICO, public corruption, and bribery cases. In addition to his jury trial experience, Hector has argued more than 30 cases in federal and state appellate courts.
Hector represents corporations and corporate executives in all aspects of criminal and related civil and administrative matters, SEC and CFTC enforcement proceedings, internal investigations, state and federal grand jury investigations, and state attorneys general investigations. His experience extends also to commercial, securities, antitrust, and professional liability litigation. In addition to his client work, Hector has also served on the firm’s Management Committee.
Prior to joining the firm, Hector was an Assistant US Attorney in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where he served as Chief of the Narcotics Unit and was twice awarded the Department of Justice’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance. Hector also served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Bureau of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. In 1998, Hector was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to serve as a visiting lecturer of trial advocacy in the post-graduate law degree program at the University of San Carlos in Guatemala City.
