Experience
Clare is a leading commercial litigation lawyer with broad skill including financial services, professional negligence and reinsurance, "one of the serious players in the market" according to Chambers UK 2010. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, as Head of Commercial Litigation at her firm, Clare led the award-winning team working on the Equitable Life litigation. In 2006, the team was named Litigation Team of the Year by The Lawyer, Legal Business and Legal Week. Clare has acted on a number of other large actions for Big 4 accountancy practices.
Clare has experience of litigation and arbitration across the United States and in Finland, France, Jersey, Guernsey, Kuwait, Switzerland and Bermuda, where she acted for the claimants in the first arbitration under the UNCITRAL rules. Between 1995 and 1997, Clare was seconded to Ernst & Young where she handled the Lloyd’s litigation, as well as advising generally in the Office of General Counsel. Prior to this, Clare worked in the reinsurance practice, acting on a full range of cases.
