Experience
Ms. Chanoine is a member of Mayer Brown's Supreme Court & Appellate group. Since joining the firm, Ms. Chanoine has authored appellate briefs in state and federal appellate courts, including a petition for certiorari in the United States Supreme Court. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, she defended a variety of federal agencies in federal and state courts nationwide during her tenure at the Department of Justice. From 2005-2009, Ms. Chanoine served as a Trial Attorney in the Department of Justice, Civil Division (Federal Programs Branch) through the Attorney General's Honor's Program. Sample matters included defending the Office of Foreign Assets Control (Department of the Treasury) against constitutional and statutory challenges to its implementation of international sanctions programs and the Foreign Service (Department of State) against Rehabilitation Act claims of disability discrimination in its hiring process.
From 2004-2005, Ms. Chanoine clerked for the Hon. Sonia Sotomayor on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
