Bernd Bohr is a partner in the Corporate & Securities practice and the Banking & Finance practice of the London/New York office. His practice focuses on securities offerings as well as public and private M&A transactions, but his experience covers a broad range of corporate and capital markets transactions in the US, Europe and Asia as well as providing ongoing advice on securities laws, corporate governance and stock exchange requirements.
Bernd routinely represents both US and foreign clients on SEC-registered capital markets transactions and in connection with their SEC reporting obligations, but he also has extensive experience advising both issuers and underwriters on Reg. S and Rule 144A transactions. In addition, he has advised both buyers and sellers on a variety of public and private M&A transactions. A significant part of his practice involves cross-border transactions and he has advised clients from a broad range of industries, including Life Sciences and Financial Services, in Abu Dhabi, Austria, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Switzerland, Tunisia, the UK and the US.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2011, Bernd worked in the New York, London and Hong Kong offices of other large international law firms. In addition to his prior law firm experience, he spent almost a year on client secondment in the M&A Group of a large multinational in Switzerland. In addition to his native German, he is fluent in English and conversant in French.
