On 25 February 2013, the French Competition Authority announced the launch of a sector inquiry in the pharmaceutical sector. The Authority plans to issue its preliminary findings on or about July 2013 in order to deliver its final report and recommendations before the end of 2013. Read our legal update on this development.

The European Commission’s Directorate General for Competition has recently published a non-confidential version of the manual used by its staff in relation to procedures for cartel and monopoly cases. The internal document complements the Best Practices for antitrust procedures which were released in October 2011. Both documents are made public following increasing calls for greater transparency about the Commission’s procedure.
