John Mancini is a Partner in Mayer Brown’s New York office and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Global Intellectual Property Practice Group. John’s practice focuses on copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent and false advertising litigation in federal and state courts and before the TTAB, on behalf of clients in a wide range of industries, including entertainment and media, financial services, technology, and consumer products. John has successfully represented some of the leading technology, entertainment, media and consumer brand companies in intellectual property litigation, including, but not limited to: Google, Motorola Mobility, Virgin Media, Nestlé, Kellogg, and Avago Technologies.
John has litigated intellectual property cases in numerous jurisdictions around the country, including both federal and state courts, as well as the ITC, and has both trial and appellate experience, including jury trial experience – all as lead counsel.
John also works with clients on intellectual property counseling and transactional matters, frequently advising clients in connection with their overall IP protection and brand-building strategies and on IP issues in the context of complex transactional matters, including licensing, disposition, and securitization of intellectual property assets. In addition, John advises clients, particularly in the financial institution industry, on compliance with security and privacy obligations relating to the storage, maintenance, and transfer of non-public personal information, and on minimizing liability for unauthorized access to such information, including identity theft.
John is ranked as one of the leading trade secret litigators by the Legal 500 and is also listed in New York Super Lawyers.
