Experience
Bruce Bloomingdale is a securitisation and structured finance partner and head of Finance for the London office. He represents and advises leading financial institutions and corporates in connection with transactions covering a broad spectrum of asset classes, including multi-country trade receivables, intellectual property rights, whole business securitisation, insurance securitisations, lease receivables, and consumer loan receivables.
Bruce has become one of Europe’s leading lawyers advising financial institutions and private equity sponsors in connection with securitisation bridges, securitisation take-outs, and opco-propco real estate-based transactions as a source of financing for the booming European LBO market. He is also active in developing market, conduit, and other structured vehicle, CDO, and principal finance transactions.
The depth and range of Bruce’s experience is complemented by his in-depth knowledge of accounting considerations pertinent to securitisation. In conjunction with accounting firms, Bruce — who is a US-qualified Certified Public Accountant — recently co-authored and chaired a series of seminars entitled “Accounting for Securitisation Transactions under IFRS.” Chambers & Partners UK Directory 2009 ranks Bruce as a “Leading Individual” and notes that "He works so hard and really looks after his client". The 2007 edition notes that he possesses “...a first-class knowledge of the recurring accounting issues surrounding securitisation.”
