Making an Application
To apply for a place on our Work Experience Programmes or for a Training Contract, or to check the status of your application once you have submitted a completed application form, please visit our online application system. If you would like to apply for more than one opportunity (i.e. a place on a Work Experience Programme and a Training Contract), you are only required to make one application. You will be asked to indicate all the opportunities that you would like to be considered for on the first screen of the application form.
If you are successful in securing a place on one of our Work Experience Programmes, you will automatically be assessed for a Training Contract during your placement so you will not need to make a further application. Application enquiries should be made to Isabella Crocker, Graduate Recruitment Manager at graduaterecruitment@mayerbrown.com
For further information on all our opportunities, please download a copy of our brochure, or for more help in making an application, please download a copy of our 'Hints & Tips’ booklet.
Training Contracts
From 1 November 2009, we will be accepting applications for Training Contracts beginning in September 2012/March 2013. However, if you are a second year law undergraduate, please wait to submit your application until you have received your second year exam results. We would advise those in their final year of undergraduate study (either law or non-law) and graduates to submit their applications at their earliest convenience. The deadline for all training contract applications is 31 July 2010.
If your application is successful, we will invite you to a one-stage assessment centre, where you will complete a written exercise, a fact find exercise, a group discussion and have an interview with two partners. Assessment Centres will be held throughout 2010.
Work Experience Programme (Vacation Schemes)
Our Work Experience Programmes take place at Easter and during the summer and are based in the London office. The Work Experience Programmes are primarily for law undergraduates in their penultimate or final year at university, non-law undergraduates in their final year and graduates from all disciplines. We are accepting applications for places on our Work Experience Programmes from 1 November 2009. The closing date is 31 January 2010.
If your application is successful, you will be invited to a 45 minute interview with a member of the Graduate Recruitment Team. Please note that we will interview for places on the Work Experience Programmes throughout January and the beginning of February and places will be offered during those months. Therefore it may be the case that the Work Experience Programmes will become full before the deadline of 31 January 2010.
Open Days
Please apply for a place on one of our Open Days using our online application system. However, you will not have to submit a full application, as is the case with Training Contracts and Work Experience Programmes. The deadline for all Open Days is 10 January 2010 but you should submit your application at least ten working days before the Open Day you wish to attend. There is no assessment process for Open Days and your attendance will be confirmed by the Graduate Recruitment team via email.
Equal Opportunities
Mayer Brown is committed to equal opportunities for all its employees. We recruit the best people for the job, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, age, race or disability. To help us, we ask all applicants to complete the Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form when completing their application forms.
