Mayer Brown represents VakifBank on Eurobond offering

12 June 2012
Mayer Brown represented Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası T.A.O. (VakifBank), a Turkish bank, on its inaugural US $500 million 5.75% five-year Eurobond offering. The VakifBank transaction marks several important milestones, including: the first-ever senior unsecured bond offering from a deposit-taking state bank from Turkey; the lowest coupon achieved by a Turkish bank in 2012 to-date; and the highest over-subscription rate of all Turkish bank transactions in the 5-year maturity.

The Mayer Brown team included: Banking & Finance – partner Jim Patti (Chicago) and associates Joshua Gordon-Blake and Gaby Sakamoto (both Chicago); and Tax Transactions & Consulting – partner Jim Barry (Chicago).
